“On occasion I will be asked, “Brother Monson, if the Savior appeared to you, what questions would you ask of Him?”

My reply is always the same: “I would ask no question of Him. Rather, I would listen!”"

Thomas S. Monson, “For I Was Blind, but Now I See,” Ensign, May 1999, 54

Curious About the Mormons?

You've probably heard a lot of odd things about Mormons. Most of it probably isn't true. When you want to know the truth, you have to go to the source.

Purpose of this site:Statue of Angel Moroni

The goal of this site is to let you take a tour of the Mormon religion--history, beliefs, and culture. The primary purpose isn't conversion--although I won't object if it happens--but to inform you and to straighten out any misconceptions you might have. It is designed to approximate taking a tour of Amish country with an Amish tourguide or going to France with a French native--someone who can help you see the world through the eyes of those who inhabit it. This way, you can learn what Mormons believe, but also why they believe and how they view their faith.

Unofficial Tour Guide

This is not an official site, and it's entirely my own doing. The church didn't tell me what to write or review the site, and as far as I know, they're not even aware of it. This is just Terrie's view of the Mormon world. As a convert, I've been on both sides, which I hope will make me a good tour guide, since I know what outsiders are curious about.

How to Use the Site:

You can follow the tour in the order I'm creating for it. This gives you the background to understand each new piece of information and is an efficient way to learn. You can also go to the site map and just search for what interests you, following the related links scattered through the articles to help you catch up with the background information. There is a blog where you can ask questions as you go along. I am happy to answer the questions of sincere seekers of truth, but I don't argue, and I'm too old to find debate or attacks invigorating!

Most topics will have three sections:

1.A page (or more) of facts.

2. A list of off-site resources if you want to dig in more deeply.

3. My personal experiences and thoughts in an article of its own.

Links will allow you to choose how much you want to read on each. You can skip steps two and three if you want to, depending on your reason for visiting the site. If you want personal insights into how Mormons really see their world, step three will matter. If you only want facts, you won't need it.
